We've been through three of these in the last six years. In our experience, they work great for a season and just break down in the second season. We kept one running through two full seasons but when we got it out again this spring, it was dead and no amount of troubleshooting will bring it back.
When it works, it does a great job of aerating the pond (thought we never saw quite such a dramatic font, either.) -- Great for a season, won't last two
